The Flu Plan

"G"lobal "W"arming Bush has a plan to keep US safe from the coming Arian flu. He plans to take our money and give it to the drug companies.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) said that an outbreak in America could kill as many as 1.9 million people.

In other words, if you're not afraid of terrorists by next year's mid-term election, you'll be afraid of the Arian flu.

HHS determined that, in order to keep safe from the Arian flu, people shouldn't gather in large groups.

I bet they had Marches against the war and polling places in mind when they came up with that one.

"When a pandemic virus strain emerges, 25 percent to 30 percent of the population could develop the clinical disease and a substantial fraction of those individuals could die. The resources required for such a vigorous containment would almost certainly exceed those available in the affected communities."

In other words, even though we are going to steal your money and give it to the big pharmaceutical companies, we're still not going to have enough vaccine for you poor folks.

Fear not... Bush, Dick "Go <F---> Yourself Cheney and their ilk will be safe. If the poor die, well that's OK with these guys. They either don't vote or don't vote Republican

So, let me get this straight. They don't know how, where or when this is all going to happen; nor do they anticipate having enough vaccinations for everyone; but they do know how much money - $4 billion to be precise - it's going to cost to make sure their friends get rich and/ or stay healthy.

"Newspeak"

Could you please print this letter to the public, in case George Orwell is reading. He could add these words to his lexicon on “newspeak”:

Papanazi: rigid, one-party, fascist and patriarchal propaganda apparatus; two top operatives who characterize the Papanazi are diabolical mass communications geniuses-Karl Rove and Joseph Goebels. The papanazi manipulate “mediacracy” in an attempt to control and direct history by interfering with national intelligence and the free flow of information and ideas.

Mediacracy: Segments of the media which collude with or are duped by Papanazi. In maintaining control, for the Papanazi and its core constituents (religious extremists, corporate elite), over intelligence and information content in reconstructing history. Leading contemporary examples of Mediacracy front men and women are Rush Limbaugh, Pat Robertson, Bill O’Reilly, and Judith Miller. Mediacracy is the plumbing for Papanazi leaks.

A Real "Edu-ma-cation" Plan

Can American Public Education really educate all of our children?

I dunno.

I do know, however, that all children that want to learn should be allowed to learn and no child in any public school system should have an unfair advantage over any other child in a public school system

Call me naive. I don't mind.

We all know by now that No Child Left Behind was just a way for the Bush administration to show US all that public education doesn't work and, like all other things the administration of "G"lobal "W"arming Bush, it sets forth, its real plan: To find a way to privatize, and publicly pay for the education of our nation's children while putting money in the pockets of big business. Their "final solution" would appear to be the institution of a voucher system with all those who could afford it paying the difference for good schools while the rest of our children suffer from sub-par education.

There was an observation in the 1970's that if Ronald Reagan was ever elected all of the children in New York City would be taught in Shea Stadium by a single teacher stationed on the pitcher's mound with a blackboard, some chalk and a megaphone. The Bush plan is worse.

Here's what vouchers will do:
-Vouchers will subsidize those who already choose to send their children to private schools by cutting their cost
-Vouchers will create situations where parents who choose public schools will have to spend over their voucher amount in order to get their children into more desirable schools
-Vouchers will create under-staffed, poorly-kept schools with overcrowding and second-rate teachers who will work for bottom dollar. There will be stuffed, musty classrooms and an environment where learning will be next to impossible

Let's face it, like in all things the Bush administration and the "G"reed "O"ver "P"eople party are still looking to create an American class system that consists of the "Haves", the "I think I Have's" and the "Defeated."

I have a better idea.

I would base an education system that is student oriented. The system would allow "Smarter" kids the ability to self-study in larger classrooms while affording the "Slower" (can I say slower?) kids smaller class sizes with more one-on-one attention.


Additionally, the "smarter" kids would also be available to help the other students as tutors foe credit. This will accomplish a couple of things: First, camaraderie between students. I remember when I was in sixth grade, my best friend "Albie" had a little trouble reading while I was a little ahead of the curve. I spent about half an hour each day, in class helping Albie catch up. It was a good thing.

The next good thing that this will accomplish is that teachers will be able to spend more time with students who need the help of professional. This will help the slower students keep up with the class better.

Another added benefit to the "smarter" kids would be the feeling of accomplishment they would receive by helping their fellow students.

But I feel this must happen in a public school setting. Vouchers will only create a class system to benefit the wealthy while the rest of our children will suffer as the "have-nots."

Meet the New Iraqi Army, Same as the Old Iraqi Army

A New York Times article, today, reported that the newly elected Iraqi government has been "recruiting" old Iraqi Army officers to lead their new police force/ Army, as had been suggested by the first Iraq Administrator, former US General Jay Garner. This flies in the face of L Paul Bremmer's decree that the Iraqi Army be completely disbanded.

Does anybody in the Bush administration know what they are doing?

The thought process of keeping the Iraqi Army together as a police force after the fall of Saddam Hussein was that of they're employed and keeping order, they aren't fighting US. Today, many of these former army personnel are part of the insurgency.

I wonder if "G"lobal "W"arming Bush considers this his "first mistake?"

(The Bremmer resolution to do away with the Iraqi army) was loosened a bit, but it was not a dramatic loosening that might have led more Sunnis to support the constitution in the referendum,"

So why did Bremmer disband the Iraqi Armed Forces in the first place? Well, it's easier to steal during times of total confusion. If you want the proof, just try and figure out what happened to $8.8 billion in Iraqi oil revenue that just "disappeared. It's like looting during a blackout, only on a larger scale.

It never ceases to amaze me how this administration just reacts in a political fashion rather than think, plan and execute.

Maybe I should just "cease" being "amazed."

Attention Wal-Mart Shoppers!

15 Things to do at Wal-Mart while your spouse/partner is taking their sweet time:

1. Get 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people's carts when they aren't looking.
2. Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals.
3 Make a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the rest rooms.
4 Walk up to an employee and tell him/her in an official tone, 'Code 3' in housewares..... and see what happens.
5 Go the Service Desk and ask to put a bag of M&M's on lay away.
6 Move a 'CAUTION - WET FLOOR' sign to a carpeted area.
7 Set up a tent in the camping department and tell other shoppers you'll invite them in if they'll bring pillows from the bedding department.
8 When a clerk asks if they can help you, begin to cry and ask 'Why can't you people just leave me alone?'
9 Look right into the security camera; use it as a mirror, and pick your nose.
10 While handling guns in the hunting department, ask the clerk if he knows where the anti- depressants are.

Hey Dick, Tell US What Happened

Nicholas Kristof, the New York Times columnist who had long been skeptical of criminal wrongdoing in the Plame/CIA leak case, continued pressing Vice President to come clean in his Tuesday column. He had first made this plea in his Saturday column.

"So, Mr. Cheney, tell us what happened," Kristof writes today. "If you're afraid to say what you knew, and when you knew it, then you should resign."

He notes, "Five lawyers I've consulted all agree that there is no compelling legal reason why you should not discuss the situation....As it is, you're pleading 'no contest' in the court of public opinion, and that's painful for all of us who want to believe in the integrity of our government."

He then lists a series of specific questions Cheney ought to answer, including:
--Did you ask Libby to undertake his inquiries about Ambassador Joseph Wilson?
--Why did you independently ask the C.I.A. for information about the Wilsons?
--Did you know that Wilson's wife was a covert officer? "The indictment states that you knew she worked in the C.I.A.'s counter- proliferation division," Kristof observes." You would think that anyone as steeped in intelligence issues as you are would know that meant she worked in the Directorate of Operations and was perhaps a spook's spook."
--Did you advise Libby to leak information about Mrs. Wilson's work in the C.I.A. to journalists?
--When Libby made his statements in the inquiry - allegedly committing perjury - were you aware of what he was saying? "Mr. Libby rode to work with you almost every morning," Kristof notes, "but this topic never came up?"

Google-Bush

If you go to Google and type in "failure" then hit the "I'm feeling Lucky bar" instead of search, you get Bush's resume... truly... I decided to read it... Not fiction. About 4 or 5 paragraphs down it really says this:

"Since becoming President of the United States in 2001, President Bush has worked with the Congress to create an ownership society and build a future of security, prosperity, and opportunity for all Americans. He signed into law tax relief that helps workers keep more of their hard-earned money, as well as the most comprehensive education reforms in a generation, the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. This legislation is ushering in a new era of accountability, flexibility, local control, and more choices for parents, affirming our Nation’s fundamental belief in the promise of every child. President Bush has also worked to improve healthcare and modernize Medicare, providing the first-ever prescription drug benefit for seniors; increase homeownership, especially among minorities; conserve our environment; and increase military strength, pay, and benefits. Because President Bush believes the strength of America lies in the hearts and souls of our citizens, he has supported programs that encourage individuals to help their neighbors in need.

"On the morning of September 11, 2001, terrorists attacked our Nation. Since then, President Bush has taken unprecedented steps to protect our homeland and create a world free from terror. He is grateful for the service and sacrifice of our brave men and women in uniform and their families. The President is confident that by helping build free and prosperous societies, our Nation and our friends and allies will succeed in making America more secure and the world more peaceful."

I think we could rewrite these paragraphs without too much effort. My draft:

Since becoming President of the United States in 2001, President Bush has worked with the Congress to create an ownership society favoring the creditors, bankers and those who have plenty of reserve and low debt. If you are one of the struggling middle-class slackers or are an elderly sick person, and you have a financial catastrophe, including medical disaster or loosing your job, you cannot protect your home by declaring bankruptcy any more so the ownership society will see the greatest transfer of wealth ever into the coffers of the well healed. He and Congress have worked to build a future of security, prosperity, and opportunity for all Americans just so long as you don't live in a flood plane, or hurricane zone, or near anything that might be construed as a possible terrorist target, because if you do and disaster strikes, the government has been reduced to the size that you can drown it in a bathtub (to borrow a phrase) or at least it's effectiveness has, and you'll be left sitting on your roof (if you're lucky) in the sun for days without water or food, or left to fend for yourselves in long lines trying to buy essentials from out of stock supply centers. There is no coordinated relief...it's spelled corporate cronyism and the blame is on the locals for living there anyway...freedom to profit is what's important. The oil and gas industry just needs more incentive to 'invest' in building refineries now that they've shut so many down to maximize their profits from the mergers of the past. Yes it's all about freedom. After all you were stupid enough to live there and stupid enough to allow your vote to be stolen so he could claim he was elected...ooops! I digress, that's not in the resume! As President he has signed into law tax relief that helps workers keep more of their hard-earned money, especially if those workers earn more than $1,000,000 per year because they get to keep about $90,000 and those who earn about $100,000 will keep about $300 and those who earn less. well... you just keep believing that it's all possible for you too, to share in the greatest American heist of the Millennium as the richest rob our national treasury of revenue it might use to bolster our national defense, public education, and critical social services for those most vulnerable. As the education President, he has signed the most comprehensive education reform in a generation, the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 ushering in a new era of accountability, flexibility, local control, and more choices for parents, affirming our Nation’s fundamental belief in the promise of every child, but which encourages a steady increase in the dropout rate since those who do poorly on tests lower the ratings overall for the schools. But no problem since by dropping the high school graduate requirement, the armed services can provide jobs with a future for every American and your child can earn the GED if it doesn't die in Iraq first.... so parents be proud as your child chooses which branch of the armed services (see we do have flexibility) to become an indentured servant in. Ever mindful of the needy, President Bush has also worked to improve healthcare and modernize Medicare, providing the first-ever prescription drug benefit for seniors; this has given the pharmaceutical industry a huge boost in profits for the foreseeable future which is great for the stock market and Wall Street types, who continue to make huge profits off the stupidity of the average investor. However, it has caused some problems in the industrial sector as General Motors and other large employers stagger under the burden of the fastest growing cost basis for keeping jobs in the US, that of employee health plans... Oh well, the unions have no clout and will agree to cuts so those workers who are getting to keep more of their pay due to the tax relief remember? Well, they will have no problem carrying the additional costs in insurance... and his plans not only increase homeownership, especially among minorities, but ultimately for those who made the loans to those minorities; conserve our environment, the operative word being 'con' in conserve which he has a difficult time pronouncing anyway because according to his Vice President, that's a personal virtue and not really a plan; and increase military strength, pay, and benefits... in aggregate numbers, where because of the total number of men and women serving we see increases, but individually, each soldier is loosing ground on the pay and benefits scale (and just forget about their families...they're all on food stamps which are about to be cut). Because President Bush believes the strength of America lies in the hearts and souls of our citizens, he has supported programs that encourage God- fearing, church going, and tithing individuals to help their churches raise the resources to employ those, and to support the political campaigns of those, who are ideologically in agreement with fundamentalist Christian beliefs because good Christians will convert their neighbors in need, prevent gays from marrying, and prevent women from aborting their 'mistakes', saving their souls from everlasting damnation and what could be more important than that?

On the morning of September 11, 2001, terrorists who do not believe in Christian values, attacked our Nation. Since then, President Bush has taken unprecedented steps to protect our homeland ignoring the civil liberties provisions of our Constitution with the neat and speedy passage of something called the USA Patriot Act which allows the torture of anyone deemed to be an enemy combatant and to create a world free from terror he insured our safety by declaring a Crusade, launching two wars on small, practically unarmed nations and instigated and supported right-wing extremist thugs in coup d'etats of democratically elected governments of two other small nations, one of which had the audacity to reinstall its loud mouthed, crude, anti-American pro-Castro President who insists on selling oil at low cost to small USA distributors by passing our big oil conglomerates all together. Recognizing our sacrifice on their behalf, the Haitians are following the plan like good neighbors and the government we installed is just busy killing those who love democracy...fools that they are. The President is grateful for the service and sacrifice of our brave men and women in uniform and their families and they can get in line for their rations and food stamps. However, those vets who claim to be suffering from some imaginary disease even if they do have children born with birth defects are delusional for thinking they have Uranium poisoning. While it is true that we have used more than 600 metric tons of depleted Uranium so far in this war on Iraq ... we used it before, about 300 metric tons in Gulf War 1, and nobody complained then so we know that there can be no harmful effects, so why test? You're just unpatriotic trying to waste good government money. The President is confident that by helping build free and prosperous societies, our Nation and our friends and allies will succeed in making America more secure and the world more peaceful. And everyone will be dead. Bring on the Rapture! This President is Rapture Ready!

Harry Reid is absolutely on target. Pat Roberts (R-KS) is part of the Plame cover up. He has done everything he can to make sure that the Plame leak was not investigated by the Senate. Henry Hyde in the House worked hard to subvert all resolutions to investigate the Downing Street Memos and Plame leak. This is simply slanderous abuse of power by (G)reed (O)ver (P)eople party.

There is a new House resolution from Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) on investigating the White House Iraq Group (WHIG) that marketed the Iraq war to the public. Members of this group, Libby and Rove, are implicated in the Plame leak. The WHIG should be investigated fully right now!
